Just over a year into his presidency, Donald Trump seems closer than ever to destroying constitutional checks and balances that have safeguarded our democracy for more than two centuries. The scariest thing is that Republicans in Congress are helping him do it, and the Attorney General, who swore an oath to defend the constitution, is letting the president freely attack his own lawyers and agents.
Months ago, Kauai Indivisible signed onto an effort coordinated by Moveon and Indivisible to unleash massive “Rapid Response” demonstrations to defend our democracy should Trump ever cross a constitutional red line like firing Robert Mueller or Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. As of this week, more than 200,000 people have signed up to hit the streets in over 700 separate protests. Our Kauai event has over 80 people signed up. That’s great, but with over 250 on this mailing list and 300 in our Facebook group, we think there should be more.
Action 1 (and only).
